WMP11 "Share my media to" box is empty
Starting to go slightly mad after days of trawling through forums to solve this one - hopefully someone can assist.I've installed a Sony Bravia TV with wifi connectivity - it connects to the internet via my router fine.I want to share the media (music, photos, videos) on my home PC which is running XP (SP3) Media Centre Edition 2002 to the TV. The home PC is wired to the router. In WMP11 I turn on Media Sharing, but the box where I should see the Bravia icon is totally empty. It doesn't even show "Other users of this PC".I use Windows Firewall and Trend Titanium (without firewall) - turning both of these off makes no difference. My wife's laptop runs VISTA and has wifi connectivity from the same router. If I go into WMP11 on her machine and turn on Media Sharing, the Bravia icon is there and sharing to the TV works fine (except most of the media I want to share is not on her machine ...) The sharing box on her machine in WMP11 also shows an icon for "Other users of this PC". In "Network", the Bravia also shows up in the list of devices visible, along with the home PC.On the XP home PC, My Network Places does not show the Bravia - it does show my wife's VISTA laptop. What needs to change on the XP machine to make it see the Bravia TV?I know this question has been asked a lot, mainly by PS3 users, but nothing I've read or tried has solved this problem for an invisible TV.Thanks.Peter1 person needs an answerI do too
